HTC One S Gets A New Cut Price at Best Buy!

Jun 14, 2012 - 2:41 PM - by HTCONE
HTCONE's Avatar

If you have been still considering to get T-mobile’s latest Android device, the HTC One S, then this is your chance to secure a great deal on this SmartPhone. Well, this beast of a device got even more affordable with Best Buy slashing its initial price tag by half. Offered by T-mobile at $149.99 plus $50 mail in rebate, the device will cost you $199.99 in total if you head towards a T-mobile store. However, if you head towards the Best Buy store, you can luckily grab the One S for only $99.99. Isn’t that a great deal?

If you’re wondering that this hot deal must be available for only new T-mobile customers, then you are wrong. It has been reported that the discounted HTC One S at Best Buy is available for new as well as exiting customers. However, like the initial offering, you will have to sign a 2-year contract with the carrier. Potential buyers can only place orders for this deal at the Best Buy online store because this offer is not found at their local stores. This drop down of price for the HTC One S will probably steal away purchases from T-Mobile’s Fathers Day sale. There is no mentioning at Best Buy as to when this offer will expire. So, if you’re interested to grab the One S at $99.99, you should better hurry and secure one before they run out of stock.

At $99.99 this smart phone is a steal. Most of us already have our HTC One devices but if you know anyone that might still need this phone or want to obtain it, now is the time to let them know.

HTC One S in Taiwan to Feature a 1.7 GHz Processor!!

Jun 13, 2012 - 11:02 AM - by HTCONE
HTCONE's Avatar

Recently, some HTC One S smart phone were spotted being sold in Taiwan with a different processor than that of the international version. Upon inquiring about this change, HTC has confirmed that One S with the older-generation 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 processor is currently up for sale in selected Asia-Pacific regions and European markets. However, it is still not revealed specifically which European markets will be offering the One S with a different processor, but as for the Asian markets, we know that currently Singapore and Hong Kong variants possess the S3 processor. So, why are the 1.5GHz S4 processors of some One S devices swapped with the older 7GHz S3 processors? Well, the increasingly high demand for S4 Qualcomm chip has forced HTC to change the processors of some One S devices.

Now, many users would think 1.7GHz processor would be better off than the 1.5GHz processor. A great number of gigahertz doesn’t actually indicate having more power. As a matter of fact, the next-generation S4 processor is more energy-efficient and powerful compared to its predecessor, the S3 chip. For you to not get confused while buying one of these HTC One S variants packed with different processors, simply check the specs label on the box. The device clocked 1.7GHz means you will be getting S3 chip, where 1.5GHz label will indicate Qualcomm S4 processor.

Would you mind buying the HTC One S with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 processor? Or if you were to buy any, your choice would be the One S with Qualcomm S4 processor?

Jun 13, 2012 - 10:57 AM - by HTCONE

With HTC One S officially announced to reach Singapore on June 16th, the One Series will now become complete by joining the formerly released One X and One V in Singapore. The smart phone will be up for sale at the local telcos as well as resellers starting on the coming Saturday, June 16.

Unlike the international version of the One S, the variant set for Singapore sports a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. As for its appearance, the device is the same as the international version boasting a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display with 540 x960 resolution and micro-arc oxidation finish on its metal casing. It’s especially designed uni-body is said to be less prone to scratches from rough handling because it is 4 times stronger than anodized aluminum. The Android 4.0 smart phone comes with only 16GB non-expandable internal storage, but you can take advantage of the 25GB Dropbox storage that is packed with the One S.

How about the price? Well, the HTC One S will come with a price tag of S$948 (approximately US$761.69). On top of that, be ready to get the treat with a free Beats Solo handset and enjoy its integrated Beats Audio technology to the maximum. Is anyone here from Singapore ready to buy the HTC One S right on 16th of June? Are you happy to get a Beats headset with your purchase?

HTC One V Coming To Virgin Mobile U.S. in Just 2 Weeks?

Jun 07, 2012 - 2:57 PM - by HTCONE
HTCONE's Avatar

Previously, HTC had officially announced the entry level One Series smart phone, the One V, would be hitting U.S. carriers this summer. But we didn’t know which carriers would offer it and most importantly, when would they unveil it? Well, the rumor has it Virgin Mobile will start selling the HTC One V “in only two weeks”.

Courtesy of DroidDog, Virgin Mobile is rumored to offer the device for $200 without any agreement. If that is correct, then the One V is going to bag sales with its economical price tag coupled with a great set of features. While U.S. carriers including Virgin Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Boost Mobile are expected to provide the One V, it is not certain when exactly the other two carriers will launch it. But if Virgin Mobile is set to launch the phone as per the rumored time, we can expect to hear from the pre-paid carrier pretty soon because it usually takes pre-orders for its smart phone.

Being the youngest and third to the HTC One Series, the One V will be following the footsteps of AT&T’s One X and T-mobile’s One S by heading to United States this summer or most probably, by mid-June. In conclusion, the availability of the One V in the next 2 weeks is an unconfirmed rumor, but it is the best buy for those HTC fans, who want to get the flavor of One Series smart phone at a pocket-friendly price.

AT&T Released OTA to Fix HTC One X Wi-Fi Issues

Jun 07, 2012 - 2:53 PM - by HTCONE
HTCONE's Avatar

A few weeks ago an unofficial update was released for AT&T’s HTC One X being appealing to the brave owners, but if you were hesitant to try it out, then it’s time to get ready to receive the official one. An official over-the-air (OTA) update to software version 1.85.502.3 has started to roll out for AT&T One X. The software update being the same as the leaked version is supposed to relieve the HTC One X owners from Wi-Fi tweaks on the device. So, this update isn’t going to bring any addition improvements if you have already run the leaked update beforehand.

According to HTC, the update will bring improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity by improving functionality when the phone is out of a Wi-Fi coverage area. Secondly, it is also said to increase Wi-Fi speed, so finally you will get rid of slow Wi-Fi connection on this great smart phone. Apart from fixing Wi-Fi issues, it will fix another little issue that is fixing AT&T Address Book contact formatting while syncing to AAB. The 64.55MB over-the-air (OTA) update is being released to all and it should be automatically received by your device. If don’t want to wait till the update lands on your device and would like to download the update manually, you can simply head towards your Smartphone’s Menu > Settings > About phone and press Software updates to get started.

We are hearing about mixed reviews regarding this latest software update. While some users are saying they haven’t observed any Wi-Fi improvement, others are complaining about faster battery drainage than before. Have you downloaded this latest software update to your AT&T HTC One X?

T-Mobile Starts to Roll Out OTA Update!

Jun 07, 2012 - 8:04 AM - by HTCONE
HTCONE's Avatar
Following the release of the HTC One S in U.S., a couple of issues popped up but HTC and T-mobile were quick to come up with an update to fix the issues. The latest T-mobile HTC One S over-the-air (OTA) update started rolling out on June 4th and it will continue to arrive on the handset till July 7th. This update will upgrade the device to the new software version 1.84.531.2 710RD. According to T-mobile explanation note to the update, it will enhance software stability while resolving open issues you have been facing with the One S.

Previously, this very update was supposed to be available on May 30th as a manual download as well as over-the-air update. Unfortunately, this newly released update is only an over-the-air update, which means users cannot download it manually onto their devices. It is supposed to automatically reach your device between June 4th and July 7th. T-mobile has refused to give any timeline about how soon it will arrive to individuals. As the rolling time is till 7th of July, you have about a month of time in hand and there is no need to be anxious if you haven’t got it as yet. In conclusion, if you are an HTC One S owner, all you can do is patiently wait for the update to pop up.

Have you received the OTA update yet on your T-mobile HTC One S? Feel free to provide any feedback or share your thoughts on this latest OTA.
