Question Free dropbox storage to all HTC One users

I was wondering how this works? do we just automatically get the free 25 GB of dropbox storage from an app on our phones? I was reading that anyone who buys an HTC One device will be able to take advantage of this and since im planning to buy the One S this is something that interests me. Also will count towards the limited amount of data we get? since we are sending media information im afraid that this will completely use up any data plan and I will accumulate additional charges. if this is so then its not worth using.

Here is how to get the extra storage through dropbox:

•To get this additional Dropbox storage free for two years, please set up your Dropbox account from HTC One X (and not from your computer or other non-HTC devices), and complete the getting started wizard on the Dropbox website (www.dropbox.com/gs).
•If you're a new Dropbox user, setting up your Dropbox account from HTC One X gives you 2GB default storage plus the additional 23GB storage space.
•This additional free storage is a one-time offer only. You're eligible to use this offer only on one HTC device.
•You won't be able to use this offer again if you create or sign in to Dropbox with a different account.

I cannot get this to work. When you say complete the setup wizard do you mean to complete the 5 tasks they give you or something different. If this is the correct thing to do then it still wont let me complete more than three of the tasks. Can someone please help.

The set up wizard should be the .exe file you download on your PC or phone to run the installation. Once thats installed make sure you create an account at dropbox.com and that should be enough. You should then be Good to go!

thanks a lot for the share; i admit at first i was confused but now i will go for this extra storage. The fact that it involves my dropbox account is also great because i am a fan of cloud based storage.

I recently bought a HTC One X even though I wasn't thrilled with it only having only 16gb of storage. I assumed that I would just take advantage of the free 25gb of storage on dropbox. It wasn't until later that I learned that AT&T (my carrier) and Verizon have "opted" out of this deal with dropbox. I have 15 days left to make a decision to keep this phone or switch to the Samsung Galaxy 3, which has much better memory options.

Dropbox allows people to bring images, docs and videos anywhere. This facility is available for any Android phone so all the HTC phones which are running on the Android operating system are supporting free dropbox storage up to 5GB.
