I have the very same problem, I just got my unit last June 20, 2012 (I got to use it only for 10 days) and now it won't turn on. My biggest problem I think is that my HTC One V is a grey unit, tomorrow I'll bring it to the local seller (Kimstore) and see what happens

My HTC one v also has the same problem, after 2 months working. Today I went to its service station, they also tell me its motherboard may be got failed. I think this problem is commonly happen with one v version.

Another victim here... My One V was working fine last night. Fully charged and all.... When I woke up in the morning, it was dead.. Tried the reset function (Hold down volume key + Power) to no avail... Took it back to the seller earlier, and they said it's gonna take 2-3 weeks for them to repair/replace the motherboard... Pfffft!!!!!

I really like this phone... Hopefully that was just one of the faulty batch... For now, I guess I'm back to my trusty old Nokia for the next couple weeks till I get the One V back...

Same happened to me. I bought the htc one v on July 16. On August 13 I charged it and it was working but within the hour it had died. Thank goodness it was not yet 30 days, so I was able to take it to the store and exchange for a new one. But of course now I'm worried :-(

    Dead after 5 weeks

Went dead exactly 5 weeks since it was purchased.
Same problem here. The phone was almost at full charge and it was dead when I took it out of my pocket. Was fine just 5 minutes prior. Looks like there is a serious defect with this product. Gave it for servicing but now wondering if I can get a full refund. Don't want to deal with this problem again.

HTC won't give you your warranty for issues such as this, the best way would be to look on XDA first. Worked for me, as most of the developers on XDA know more than the tech support at HTC. If HTC can't determine the problem they will assume it was a main-board related problem, which in most cases it isn't, and they will charge you around $100 for a replacement. The one v doesn't suck, the stock firmware is nowhere near as stable as other roms available for it, and since HTC won't cover problem such as this, it is a good idea to get a more stable ROM off XDA.
