Is this normal for HTC one x? I haven't experienced with other phones
i have the same problem here, when im watching youtube and phone is charging it gets almost 55c, you can see that with an battery app.
So when you use the phone for movies, youtube dont charge you can kill the phone.
Not sure if that is true about phone been killed while charging and watching youtube i have done tis many times with my X-one yes it get hot but nearly all new smartphone get hot while charging and using device at the sametime if they were that bad with temperture then they would not be been used by all the top manufactures of tablets and net book. Yes 55c is warm but trust me its not that warm
The reason this happens is because the phone has such a powerful processor, but no fans built in. Think about your PC and the processing power. The only reason they do not get stupidly hot is because they have fans cooling the processor.
My phone does get warm when playing games for a long period or charging, but it doesn't seem to cause any issues.
It is always recommended that you leave your battery to finish charging before using the device. Look at it this way; playing your game is rapidly draining the battery, whereas you are trying to charge it... the result is a serious strain on your battery, which leads to the over-heating
This is perfectly normal.. If you dont want it then just switch off your mobile.. then charge it .. And I think SxiBwoy is right.. This phone has a quad core processor.. So it is natural to heat up
Well the problem is that heat degrades the life of the processor, but I think it's normal for phones to be warm, unless the phone becomes so hot it's untouchable.
The international version is quadcore and does run hotter than the AT&T HTC One X. I wouldn't be too worried about the device running hot. Most cell phones i've used tend to get hot after heavy use and almost all of them get warm right have it's fully charged. In terms of degrading the life of the processor. How long do you plan on keeping your HTC One X? I've heard of stories of people getting laptop burns but not so much with cell phones. The worse you get with cell phones are the chargers causing a fire, or people walking into mall water fountains, traffic, or accidents while testing. LOL!
