Have you checked your setting to see if your volume is turned on? What program are you running to play videos?

There are no known issues with video playback with the HTC One X. From experience, HTC phones have multiple volume settings, just like a computer. There is one setting for media, another for alarm and yet another for the ringer.

It depends on video you watch, try downloading some other movies and try them, or try to record something and see if there is sound, if it doesn't work on ALL videos try factory reset after u backup settings and rest u wanna save. I had similar problem on my HTC Desire 1 year ago and factory reset helped, and on One X now I had problem with few videos only but I downloaded MX player pro and from that played all worked fine... Well if factory reset doesn't help and it's not video repair is only option :S
