A few weeks ago an unofficial update was released for AT&T’s HTC One X being appealing to the brave owners, but if you were hesitant to try it out, then it’s time to get ready to receive the official one. An official over-the-air (OTA) update to software version 1.85.502.3 has started to roll out for AT&T One X. The software update being the same as the leaked version is supposed to relieve the HTC One X owners from Wi-Fi tweaks on the device. So, this update isn’t going to bring any addition improvements if you have already run the leaked update beforehand.

According to HTC, the update will bring improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity by improving functionality when the phone is out of a Wi-Fi coverage area. Secondly, it is also said to increase Wi-Fi speed, so finally you will get rid of slow Wi-Fi connection on this great smart phone. Apart from fixing Wi-Fi issues, it will fix another little issue that is fixing AT&T Address Book contact formatting while syncing to AAB. The 64.55MB over-the-air (OTA) update is being released to all and it should be automatically received by your device. If don’t want to wait till the update lands on your device and would like to download the update manually, you can simply head towards your Smartphone’s Menu > Settings > About phone and press Software updates to get started.

We are hearing about mixed reviews regarding this latest software update. While some users are saying they haven’t observed any Wi-Fi improvement, others are complaining about faster battery drainage than before. Have you downloaded this latest software update to your AT&T HTC One X?
