While some of the users might own a flawless HTC EVO 4G LTE, there are some who are found to have bought units with faulty display. As reported by some EVO LTE owners over at XDA developers forum, a couple of units are experiencing light bleed issues. Reportedly, the display of the SmartPhone shows light bleed around the home button when there is a pitch dark background.
As you can see from the picture, the EVO LTE at the left shows the light bleed issue when the home screen button is lit up. Comparatively, the device resting at the right is working fine without any display problems. It should be noted that this picture was taken in a dark room therefore the light bleed is very prominent. So, if you are looking at an affected device in a normal surrounding, the light bleed on the screen won’t be so visible. If you are unsure whether your EVO LTE Android phone is affected, you can easily check it using the Dead Pixel Test application. It is not clear how many units are actually affected with the aforementioned issue, but it seems the percentage of faulty devices is very less.
As of now, there is no official statement from either of the companies regarding this display issue. However, if you have noticed the problem, you can simply take your EVO LTE to Sprint or Best Buy. Some users are reporting about that both of these sellers are willing to replace units with light bleed issues. However, in order to get a replacement, you must request for an exchange within the 30-day return period of your initial purchase.
Is your HTC EVO 4G LTE also experiencing such light bleed issue with dark backgrounds? Or yours is luckily working just fine?
