If you Hack/Root your phone you are going to get added features, as well as have more control over your phone. You can get rid of annoying preloaded crap, too. For example, one guy used a hack to connect his phone to his computer and virtually turned his phone in to a computer.

I know this is going to sound so dumb but what is a Hack/Root? Suprise, surprise I am new to the EVO thing and am very happy with the phone basics but need to learn how to use my phone properly.

Any help would be great. I'm an old lady so I'm a bit slow on the up take.

A hack/root lets you access the firmware of your device and pretty much allows you to change out a lot of the set features and personalize them the way you want. A smart phone is pretty much a smaller computer so you do have to have some kind of knowledge on what your doing or you will risk damaging your mobile phine.
